The coordination of rehabilitation protocols, strength/conditioning programs, and sport technique development leads to reduced injuries and improved athletic performance. This presentation focuses on developing a sound team approach using best practices leading to improved athletic performance, decreased injury risk, and facilitating overall communication.
Clinical Bottom Line for Healthcare Professionals:
Athletic trainers, athletic performance specialists, and coaches all have specific roles to play in the physical development of an athlete or team. Evidence based practices demonstrate better outcomes when utilizing a team concept in injury prevention and athletic performance. Participates should become familiar with specific terms, applications, techniques, and programming elements to enhance their knowledge, clinical practice, and improve overall outcomes.
